Due to several factors, I can no longer recommend funding e-gold accounts.

The main factor is harassment of e-gold by the fascist U.S. government.  Because of that, e-gold is essentially a "blocked currency".  Difficulty of withdrawal of funds within the e-gold systems ranges from extremely difficult, and at a steep discount to the current gold price, to impossible.  (That is, it is extremely difficult, to impossible, to convert e-gold to one or more nation-state fiat currencies.)

Opening an e-gold account is simple and entails no obligation.  You may open an account now, immediately, and fund it later.

After you open an e-gold account, the next step is to fund it; that is, to transfer some sort of fiat currency units (US$, Euros, etc.) into your account and have them converted to equivalent amounts of the precious metal(s) of your choice.  This is also called an "In-Exchange".

To fund your e-gold account(s) through Omnipay, it appears that you will have to have your account established with OmniPay as well as e-gold and that you will then have to log in with Omnipay to get the details.  The last information I have is that the minimum "In-Exchange" amount is US$1000, and that wire transfers only are accepted.

For smaller amounts, including very small amounts, and/or for other than wire transfers, you will fund your e-gold account(s) through independent "exchange providers", aka "market makers" or "cambios".

After you have opened and funded an e-gold account, you may then transfer metal to others' accounts.  (Note that you do not have to have your account funded in order to receive transfers from others.)

To easily test sending (transferring) metal to another account after you have funded yours, you can send me a nominal $0.25 worth of metal (or whatever amount) by clicking here.  Clicking takes you to an e-gold site secure transaction page where you can decide what to enter and transmit.  Note that you can enter any amount in one of several units of account, and that you can cancel altogether the potential transaction prior to your finalizing it.
